Grand Ball.

My Mom is head of the special education department at Lewisville High School- every year they have a "Grand Ball" which is prom for their students. This event has grown so large in the past 16 years that it surpasses LHS's prom! All year people from the community donate their money, time and effort to make this one night so spectacular and special for the students. Most of the people who help do not even have students attending LHS! Mom asked if I would help set up the day before- they start at 1:30 and we didn't leave until midnight. This isn't including the countless hours my Mom and others spent gathering up and making dresses and tuxes for the students, finding jewelry to match and lining up limos to pick up each student.
Every student was picked up in a limo and then one of the Circle of Friends students was waiting for them at the school- once they pulled up to the school in the limo, their escort (their "date" for the night- who never left their side!) would meet them at the door and walk with them into the hallway leading into the cafeteria which was decorated with games, cotton candy machines, popcorn, clowns, magic show, dogs performing tricks etc! Once all adults, parents, and guests were seated each student and their date were announced as part of the "royal court" as they walked into the "circus tent"!
Mom and I were working and had been for HOURS putting together this event when who showed up to help!?
BROCK! (left golf to help- can you believe it?)

I am so lucky to have such an amazing Mom! She uses her amazing creative talents and ability daily to educate and help these children and it has truly touched their lives as I know they have hers! I know this from their many comments like "Mrs. N, you make my heart happy" and her many stories about their progress and cute comments. Just reminds me how truly blessed my family and I are and how lucky I am to be a part of it with all the many blessings we have!
