happy easter!
I am loving holidays with a little one! The looks on her face are amazing....
when she woke up, the easter bunny had paid her a little visit. I loved watching her first try and grab a few eggs in her little hands, then realized that the basket on the table would help! She then marched her little self around grabbing every egg and putting them in her basket
Then it was off to church- where after, we tried to take some pictures
family pic attempt 1
attempt 2
after church (and naps) it was off to aunt betty's house for some cousin fun!
why have just one basket- when you can have 3!?
happy easter baby girl!

visiting meemaw.

Mom, Hadley, and I took a day trip down to Waco to visit my Meemaw- this is always an interesting (driving in the car for that long with a little one) but fun & worth it adventure. I love seeing moments like this:
we made a few stops along the way for snacks
the ride was a mix of quick naps, iPad movie watching, and being silly
and once we got there...
now, taking hadley to Meemaw's retirement place is like having a place full of grandparents! Hads is always a huge hit- and boy does she ham it up

relief society birthday- finding joy in the journey.

For those who don’t know, The Relief Society is the largest women’s organization in the world.  (It is the women’s organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, the Mormons, of which I am a member.)  Every year, we celebrate the organization of the Relief Society with some type of activity/meeting for the women in our ward.  (A ward is how our church members are organized into congregations based on geographical locations.)
Well, I was "in charge" of the birthday celebration for Relief Society with my friend Jessica by my side!
I decided the 'theme' would be Alice & Wonderland: a very merry birthday!- "finding joy in the journey"
(based off a talk by President Monson in 2008- I said, Alice had a journey through wonderland, where she met the mad hatters *everyone had to wear hats*, and had a very merry un-birthday)
This was a super fun theme with lots of different directions to take it.
We spent all morning setting up in the gym with lights, things hanging from above etc- only an hour before- when we have shown up early to set out the food- to be told we have to move into a small side room. (the is a whole different story I will spare all from- but lets just say, I didn't take as many pictures as planned because I was a little upset and it didn't have the same 'picture effect' it was going to!)
Despite the last minute changes, it was a wonderful night, filled with food, fun, and laughs! Guess I needed to take a lesson from my theme- find joy in the journey!
 some of my lovely friends
Not going to lie, I was pretty excited about how my first cake done with fondant turned out!
thank you to all the ladies who came & to all the ladies who helped!
but, most of all, THANK YOU to one of my besties- Jessica! You are amazing!!

grand ball.

I was lucky enough to help again this year set up LHS's Grand Ball.
(see grand ball 2011 for an explanation)
Unfortunately, Brock was out of town so I was not able to help as much as I would have liked, due to having to get a babysitter etc. However, Friday night, I did go up and help decorate!
my cute mama and another teacher
Saturday night: Grand Ball
My date was out of town- so I invited the next best thing! My bestie Becky
Fun Night. Great event. Priceless moments.
(my mama is the one in the middle with flowers- dark purple dress)
dancing with my mama
Becky and I tried to do some pics in the parking log via the auto-timer. Not great, yet, lots of laughs
then, I went home to my baby girl and hung up my dancing shoes

warrior dash.

Some girlfriends and I went on a road trip outside of austin to run in the warrior dash. We did it in honor of our friend's brother, Drew, who passed away. We had such a fun time and I know he was looking down grinning ear-to-ear at our silliness.
trip down:
pre-race pedi's
and after!!
helmets up!
they didn't have any place to clean yourself off except for this mud hole... It made for an interesting {stinky} ride back
thanks ladies for an awesome, fun, & eventful trip!
